Default Gearbox issues - 5th June 2017, 07:37 PM

Hi all. My 54 plate pretty standard JCW has suddenly developed a dislike of changing gear. It is very difficult to select a gear and feels as though it will not engage. Sometimes double clutching helps, but it soon goes back to being very difficult to engage.
The clutch and flywheel were changed about 5000 miles ago.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Also, the emissions light has come up yellow but has passed its MOT only 2 weeks ago. Could it be a wire or sensor failure?

Thanks
Neil

With the clutch being relatively new, it does point to the clutch either being defective, needing adjustment or poorly fitted.

I would take it back to who ever fitted the clutch.

You'll need to plug in and get a code read for the emissions. It could be just a sensor like O2 or similar but impossible to tell without a code.

Good luck with it.
