Default New to me JCW - 20th October 2014, 07:29 PM

Having had an S a few years ago, interlaced with 5 series & Z4C ownership, I picked this up at the weekend

Loving it, although amazed at how heavy the steering was even without sport mode on....my Z4 feels like a town car by comparison!

Oh, and the turning circle seems shocking, although only 8" less than the Z....but much shorter length overall too.

Loving the bangs on overrun, my acceleration patterns have changed just to hear the noise just wish I heard more from within the cabin, as really need my window down to hear it - any suggestions?

Oh yes, the 3 side fins in the sills, do they just pull out, or do they need to be fitted whilst the sills are off? They look as though the coating / colour is coming off them. Wondering if they are covered under mini warrantee.

Matt

Cheers - will take some at the weekend, as been too busy driving it & getting the alcantara back to new condition.

It has cream leather, red colourline, media, HK hifi & chilli.

Doesn't feel as fast as the Z which is expected given the spec, but more day to day grunt/speed - love it!

**** on sill removal, was hoping I could just pull them out like teeth.

Looks great mate lovely JCW and great color too. Sometimes wish I had gone for that combo easier to maintain than midnight black.

Certainly from a swirl perspective, that's for sure. Love the black, but had one black car & the overnight dust settling was a challenge for my OCD.

Seem to have some dirt at the back grained into the paint, so will do some research on how to rectify.

Also need some decent metal polish for the exhausts, although wondering after 37k whether it is too late to return the insides of the exhaust to shiny!?

Window squeak now sorted, thanks to the forum advice!

If you put the rear seats down you can hear the exhaust more! Mine are down permanently 😎

Rather than put the seats down, used the 'boot extension' but for the back seat to open up the space a little. Impressed with the sound, but makes the back seats look a bit weird!
