That's beautiful mate!
Exactly the same as mine except i don't have those nice JCW bonnet stripes......yet.
Seeing them on yours, I am tempted, I've got the JCW carbon fibre rear spoiler too, I really like that.

There will be a 63 plate 35k mile all black JCW at UKI Sudbury very soon. With most of the creature comforts.

Hi buddy, yes well overdue, must sort something out
Difficult decision, GP2 is very capable (apart from the ever problematic suspension) and with a couple of choice mods is a great car. Have a word with tcbw as his bruv has one with nice mods
With another few k on mods the jcw will be quicker, but knowing what you're like with analysing figures I'm surprised you've not decided on the GP already 😉

Yes, Dave of course you should!

Unless - unless - you buy a GP2... it is the lazy man's 'pre-modded R56', with coilovers, BBK, sticky tyres, nice seats, etc. but it still responds well to a few choice mods.

My brother's GP2 is now on a ship bound for Helsinki, but the thread remains on MT under "ingeric's emirati GP2". It now has a Quaife LSD and Helix LWFW - and the throttle response is great and still very linear. And those big brakes with Carbotech XP8s are strong enough to break your nose. You would have to spend a fair chunk to get a fJCW up to the same level, even if there is more choice with colours, and four seats.

PS We've had not a squeak from the Bilstein suspension on the GP2. And this in an environment where I needed to have the front suspension on my 9972 rebuilt. (And as you may recall, I have B14s on my 53, which are still working fine.)

My take on an R56 JCW N18 vs GP2

Advantages: you can choose the colour scheme, there will be more options and equipment, you can keep the rear seats, and there are more opportunities for personalisation

Disadvantages: you will you need this lot to keep up with a GP2
• BBK
• Sticky tyres
• Coilovers, with new front top mounts, new rear control arms, rear anti-roll bar and new drop links all round, proper set up
• Lightweight rims, with less offset or spacers
• Better seats

But as to the engine, both a JCW and a GP2 could use:
• FMIC by Forge or Airtec
• CAI by AEM
• DP (and delete-R) by Akrapovic
• Ignition Projects coils
• Remap by Manic

Keano, in case you`re not quite sold on the GP2 yet mate, I`m going to leave a little video here, of the GP2 that you may/may not have seen, but even if you have, it`s gotta be worth watching again

Cheers as ever for your input. 👍

In the mods list I had assumed I would 'need' wheels for the GP as well really - not a fan of the oem offering - plus probably the seats too really.

Useful list so thanks for that 👍

The GP is coming out pretty well in terms of overall spend I must admit - a lot of the problem is there aren't many good options about for a fJCW really, or if they are good they are silly money that means may as well get the GP 😂😋
