Dave, I've got an idea. Why don't you join us at the New MINI Club Sweden event in early August: I'll have my R53 and my brother will have his GP2. As you know, both are modified. We can try them on road and track, and you'll buy the one that makes you laugh out loud.

So they are slower and less refined, plus more expensive in fuel, than the newer offerings but my god they are a hoot!!

This has complicated matters and I suspect won't be resolved for a little while 🍿

Glad you enjoyed it mate, but sorry I've muddied the water lol

House move has meant the r53 and the gp2 too are now off the cards with the fjcw being the compromise between the two.

It will be a daily again rather than just a toy but will be for the Mrs after all, so the goal posts have moved a tad since I started the thread.

Plus point is there seems to be quite a few more options compared to when I was last looking so may yet find something I like.

Just had another trip to Scotland and have spent the entire 12 hours journey thinking about bits to get for a mini!!!! A Nissan x trail was great for what I used it for but the roads up on Skye are crying out for a mini!!!!!!!!

Got another trip for xmas so plan is to buy and mod the mini in time for the trip.... 👍
