Default Questions regarding new GP purchase. - 2nd February 2014, 12:01 PM

Hi Guy's,
Having had my Cooper for 10 years, i'm thinking of buying a new GP.
However, I have a few questions regarding this purchase.
Are there any 'issues' regarding this car I should be aware of?
For example, i've heard about a 'death rattle' and a carbon build up
on the head being concerns, are ther any others???
This will be the most expensive car i've ever purchased and I just want to
make sure I go into it with my eye's open!
Cheers.

It will be absolutely fine, and it has a warranty for when it's not fine

Most of the engine issues you've heard of pertain to the N14 motor. Updates and fixes were applied to the N18 motor, which is found in the GP2.

Have not heard of any major issues specific to the new GP, other than a small number reporting an occasional rattle with the rear cross bar.

The vast majority of GP2 owners are very pleased with the car. Just be sure to test drive before you buy. It will feel noticeably different from your R50.

it's true my wife prefers to take the GP on the big monthly shop over our Audi Q3 as the boot is bigger and the bar helps keep the bags from falling over, it's what it is there for after all

I've had 3 mini before the GP2 and it is easily my favourite
