Yorkshire and Region - Who do you use?

I bought my car from the guys at Castle in York. I am immensely impressed with them, everything they said they would do, they did, no fuss and no hassle.

Im trying to avoid Scotthall in Leeds at all costs. Sales are a bit ropey, but OK. I don't trust their service though, awful attitude and pricey too.

I am from Edinburgh but I went all the way down to Scotthall in Leeds as they had the car I wanted in stock and were absolutely blowing it out the door to me. Gave me by far the best trade in price for my BMW 130i and had one of the best priced factory JCWs at the time with a great spec on.
I think the guy I used was called Paul. Never used the service dept though as will stick with my local dealer.
I have had 7 cars from my local dealer and they couldnt get any where near the deal that Scotthall was doing.

We have just bought our new cooper convertible form Sandal in Huddersfield. Paul is the sales manager and Tom is thier new salesman. Nice relaxed sell, spent lots of time with us so the intial experience is very postive. The car has a recall allready!, so we will see how that goes......

Just had dealings with Sytner Sheffield.

The parts guy (James i think) is very helpful and got me the parts i needed no probs.

The reception lady is very nice.

Not had the pleasure of using the service dept yet.

i've never heard anything about a good dealer round here other than lloyd colne

The majority of dealers round here have both good and bad points to them

The parts guy at sandal hudds was very nice and helpful
Sales on the other hand not so good

Scothall terrible pushy sales person when i was looking for a cooper-s

Stratsone harrogate eventually sold me my car after i spent ages wondering around waiting for someone to come to me (they werent even that busy at the time)

Stratstone Harrogate are superb I find - its a case of we don't approach you - you approach us - dont want to pester... I prefer it that way, others don't! However, their service side are spot on. I've never had a problem - do what they say when they say. Never found any need to complain!

Castle on the other hand well! Sales are ok, nowt special. Service on the other hand! Lets just say the dealer principle has had to get involved on 2 separate occasions and we've had mini uk on the phone (they phoned us) after failed returned calls. The service guy is a nuisance to deal with. Refuses to price match and is generally awkward about everything. I've heard similar from others.

Only thing that lets stratstone down is their MOTs get done up at renault (also pendragon group) so it takes longer.

Never heard anything good about lister park / jct600

Lloyd colne are also very good. Got to say they do a good car clean and are reasonably competitive on parts.

sales team at huddersfield sandal excellent, s tom, chris and joe. service departent i've given up on.
i had a headlight go this morning, took it down. didnt have one in stock, so nicked one, and did a health check!
all i wanted was headlight bulb changed, 2 min job!!
im travelling an hour to colne to use lloyds for all my other work. i was very impressed on a recent visit to them.

My dad bought his R53 from Castle Mini in York. I was very impressed with the service given, so much that i bought my JCW from them. Excellent service, aftersales service was spot on too.
Bought my first mini from Stratstone in hull. Was happy with them but after having my car in for warrenty work and it was returned to me damaged i lost faith.
