Default Air Con question - 26th June 2017, 11:09 AM

F56 owners (2014+)

Trying to work out if my Cooper has an issue with air con

When idling and when you press the air con button does the car idle more /rev slightly higher? Is there a change in engine note? There isn't in mine but in all my other cars including previous mini it did!

I run @newminilondon on Instagram!

Now:F56 MINI Dooper MidnightBlack (Chili, Full White leather, Connected XL Nav, adaptive dampers, heated seats, HUD, Harmon Kardon speakers, black alloys)
Before:F56 MINI Dooper IcedChoc (Chili,VisualBoost,Leather)
Before: R56 MINI Cooper Lightning Blue (Chili, half leather)
Before :R50 MINI One Moonlight Black (Pepper)
+ 2 Audi TT MK2s in between.

Depends on how much power is being drawn from the engine for the air on compressor. If there's plenty of power then it will stay the same. All manufacturers have had to change how the air on compressors draw power to meet emissions regs. They can't have cars pumping out a trillion g/co2 cause we have our air on on.
