Default Clubman discounts - 20th May 2016, 08:26 PM

I just wondered what discounts are kicking around at the moment. my dealer has been in touch offer a good rate on finance, with some discount on the car. seems like the new clubman sales aren't moving very quickly.

2016 Clubman Cooper D, chill pack, pano roof, pepper white, black roof, folding door mirrors, chrome interior and exterior, media XL, 18" black star alloys

Gone2013 Countryman SD, black with white roof - John Works kit , chill, media packs, sunroof, spots, sports aerial, lounge leather, DLR's plus a lot, lot more +++++

I had the old JCW clubman but have no intention of going for the new clubman, imo its too big, when I change my current F56 JCW I will be looking at the Audi A1, I have had 10 new Mini's since they were launched in 2002 but feel the whole Mini range is getting too big just so they can share a common platform with BMW.
I will be keeping one Mini, my classic Clubman 1275GT

A well speced Coopers S comes to more than my well speced Countryman JCW.

Nice interior though.

Disagree with the new MINIs being too big. They have to change with the times and offer what the market is asking for. I doubt many would be sold if they kept with the original size.

Back to the OP - are you talking about the F series Clubman? If so, I test drove one about 3 weeks ago and wasn't very impressed. I also test drove the 5 door cooper S which (I hate to admit) was really good! Absolutely hated them when the 1st came out but after sitting in one I have been converted.

Haven't MINI USA been having a nightmare with the new Clubmans?

Slightly off topic, but why was the clubman not called countryman and the countryman called clubman, would have kept the names historically correct.
