MINI Icon Hot Choc Clubman 0-62 times - 15th October 2017, 06:57 PM

I thought the ALL4 Cooper S was slower due to the extra weight of the additional diff and gubbings. Just caught a page on the Mini website that shows;
Cooper S - 7.2s
ALL4 Cooper S - 7s

Is this correct?
Is this only for 2017 models, (mine is a 2016)?

Cheers
Ollie.

Question 15th October 2017, 09:08 PM

Do I need to pay for Photobucket to enable me to link photo’s to this forum?

What would they have done to the 2017 model to make the ALL4 suddenly quicker? Or, is the information I have incorrect?

I wouldn’t, they are holding everyone to ransom by asking £300 a year for the privilege I use postimage.org which is free.

It’s constant product developmentby by BMW, huge difference in handling between my 2013 Countryman SD ALL4 and my 2016 model. The information is correct with the latest Clubman models having further tweaks both on the engine front and electronics (touchscreen, Apple CarPlay).

Every like for like comparison I have ever found will show 2wd to be a touch faster to 60 than AWD. Not just weight to consider here it’s mainly transmission losses. There is a lot more to turn and power drain is bigger. Maybe mini have a workaround? Could be a clever transfer box or diff but I think that figure is likely to be the other way around. The 2 iterations are certainly a lot closer than they used to be though.

R60 Cooper S auto, Pure red, chilli, media and light packs..SOLD

F60 Cooper S All4 auto. Thunder grey with a lot of gloss black and very little chrome. Chilli, Media, Tech, XL, LED’s, pano roof, black 19’s, black leather, black stripes, black roof, black rails (I like black)....pretty much all options ticked - already regret the ones that are missing.
