Default New girl! - 23rd July 2015, 08:38 PM

Hi all!

Firstly, I can't believe I got 'Penelope' as a user name, must be the only Penelope here then

So I collect my new, and first EVER Mini tomorrow! Previous cars include Supra TT Aerotop, 350z and an RX7 FD3S.. So bit of a change! I may miss owning RWD.. But I just got fed up with owning 'old' cars I guess, (money pits) and wanted something more suited for a comfortable daily drive! Although I WISH I went for the JCW edition.. No idea why I didn't, but anyway moving on!

She is a pepper white, 2015 Cooper S Roadster, optional Chili pack, Sports pack, colour line interior and heated seats. If I had the choice I wanted Mini connected (can it be added)? I also wanted leather lounge seats, so if anyone has any for sale?! Unless it messes up the heated seats...? Sadly as it's discontinued, I had to buy what they had, that came close to the spec I wanted, which was mainly the aero kit!

I have already bought JCW 18" gloss black wheels, so if anyone wants any 17" silver cross spoke wheels with brand new Dunlops, let me know! I have also bought a stubby aerial, and some JCW carbon fibre mirrors, and plan to 'de-chrome' the exterior ASAP! (black looks way better against the black headlights and grill than the bling)!

I shall post pics tomorrow (which also happens to be my Birthday)

My wife has almost an identically specked Roadster (she also has the Lounge Leather).

2 mods we have done that I would recommend:

Put a K&N panel filter in (improves exhaust note and you get a lovely turbo hiss)

Fit the JCW strut brace (we did and made a huge difference to handling).

Enjoy

Interesting! I will endeavour to fit these modifications asap!

I just got back from collecting her! Such a shame I had miserable weather, so couldn't test the car, let alone open the roof etc.. Sport mode seems to make a noticeable difference however!

The FIRST thing I am doing is ditching those dreadful runflats! At one point I thought there was something wrong with the car it was banging so much over very light bumps in the road... In fact I am in the process of ordering new tires right now! Does anyone know the MAX width I can get on the JCW 18's? Surely it can't be 205?!

Thanks for the Birthday wishes too

Enjoy the new car. Did you not get a JCW badge on the lower front grill?

EDIT: just re read your first post! It's not a JCW.
