Default Lohen Perf Pack 1 Cooper S N18 newbie - 12th August 2017, 07:46 AM

hello to all,
I am new to mini's, this is my first having traded in a juke Nismo RS for this 1 owner 14k miles cooper S which I have already started modding. I have started with the Lohen Manic performance Pack 1 which gives you the Airtec FMIC, spark plug upgrade, ITG air filter, many dyno runs in stage 1A,!B and 1C and of course the stage 1 remap. Also EBC drilled grooved disks and mintex fast road pads. lookingbo do some custom mods in the near future similar to what I have done in the past once funds allow. Meanwhile enjoying the newly acquired power and torque from the upgrade. posted dyno results in the tuning/dyno section

Welcome... nice looking motor... a review of the manic remap when you have driven it a bit would be great. I'm looking to do the same and would like to know how the different tunes behave and what the drivability is like? Thanks.

R60 Cooper S auto, Pure red, chilli, media and light packs. Harman Kardon. Lots of mods to come.....

+1 on this. I there there are a few "canned" remaps available, but i dont think you can beat live mapping. Lohen arent a million miles from me either.

...only concern then is the warranty...

Dave,
Put the review in this section. yes driveability much improved, economy unaffected, can drive from notts to my work 130 miles away in London only using 2 bars of fuel on the gauge, approx. 50mpg on motorway run, way better on fuel than the Nismo Juke RS I traded in which only managed 30 even when driven steady. more pops and bangs in sport but still subtle driving steady and not OTT but like a machine gun if you lift off on WOT which sounds amazing. fairly linear throttle and easy to modulate so it is easy to feed in the power on wet roads and not wheelspin the power away.

Dave

if you are suggesting it is live mapped and done to your requirements i think thats incorrect.
theses are pre made maps and loaded onto the car.

yes I was under the impression it is a off the shelf map loaded to the car but suited to the mods on the car such as FMIC air filter and spark plugs and not live mapped. You can have custom options added to the map such as water/meth injection and linear throttle, but the throttle does feel fairly linear anyway so happy with it as is. you can have live/custom mapping though at lohen, but it does cost a lot more.

Ah, ok. My mistake! Sounds a good map though.

I know Superchips do one with a warranty for anything MINI won't cover, but I've not heard many great things about their maps in the past.

hi dave, not tried superchips before, had e-maps on my bmw320d , a bmw remap on a 530d, RICA on my V70T5 which ran lean so changed to a TME remap who specialise in Volvo's and this was much better and did not run lean. I can vouch for the manic remap also, car is out of warranty now so for me was not an issue but yes I can see your concern if still under warranty but I've never had anything go wrong in the past with remaps as long as you put a good one on.
