Default Newbie - Hello From West Sussex - 19th November 2017, 12:20 PM

Hi all,

I collected a new Copper S in Thunder Grey at the end of last month.

The car has the chili and media packs as well as rear parking sensors and electric folding mirrors.

The car was already in stock at the dealers so there was no wait for a factory order.

So far I have only covered just over 300 miles in her but very much enjoying it.

Any help with the following questions would be much appreciated:

Is it best practise to ease the engine in for the first 500-1000 miles?

When listening to music via Spotify with my phone plugged in via USB I cant seem to skip the track via the steering wheel controls?

Is there a option or setting for getting the sat nav to show road speed limits?

I am looking to add the JCW rear spoiler and exhaust is there a recommend place to purchase these for the best price please?

Thanks in advance.

Arran

Very nice Enjoy your new car.
What detailing package did you go for?

Ebay for the parts.
Pay no more than £150 for a delivery mileage Fjcw exhaust. Plenty about I have bought two for £100 each. Spoiler will be harder I imagine.
Just drive normally for the 800 odd miles then your fine.

Whoopsee... just taken her for a proper blast! What “damage” can not easing the engine in do?

Once it's run in properly you can give it a bit of 'wellie'.
Oh, and change the oil more regularly than the manufactures advise.
I have a JCW and change my oil every 5,000 miles/12 months.

I would have loved a JCW but was out of my budget.

I think you will be happy with the compromise.

I thought I wanted a JCW but having recently test driven a Cooper S I think I'll be more than happy with the Cooper S. And it will be a better fit for my lifestyle and keep the joint holder of the purse strings happy. Just need to firm up deal with the local dealer.
