Default Newbie - first MINI - 7th January 2018, 11:19 AM

I picked up my first ever Mini yesterday. Itís an Oxford green Paceman 1.6D All4 - white roof (with glass) and white stripes and mirrors and Chilli pack and I love it 😀😀

Iíve never had a Mini before and Iím confused about terminology like R56? R55? Iíll need to do some reading. Anyway, can someone advise if this is the place to ask stupid questions? Iíve read the manual and googled but there are stil a few things I do t know the answer to like why canít I Bluetooth music from my iPhone - do I really need a cable (I only have the chill pack - no other enhancements). Some people seem to suggest you can and then others say you canít!

Another stupid question - do you not get a light on your dash (like other cars) when you have your headlights on - regardless of whether they are on auto or just manually put on? Just seems odd that you donít know when / what lights are on - even though they work perfectly fine lol.

The other this is - no temp gauge.? I have read about the button I need to press multiple times and will play about with that today but just wanted to check Iím not missing anything.

Itís just all so exciting 😂😂

Welcome to tM and the MINI family, you have a nice ĎR61í Paceman there. Not stupid questions at all.... you do need a y cable for your iPhone and to ensure you source the correct cable, it will be best to contact your parts dept at your local MINI dealer to identify the part number. There are sea of cables available on eBay to choose from. Unfortunately, no to the headlight symbol on your dash and temp gauge - MINI like to be different!

Brilliant. Thanks for your help - I will look into buying a Y cable - that’s the only thing that’s missing from the total luxury of driving this little car. Spent the day sorting the radio stations and understanding the dials etc. I’ve just discovered the button on the end of the arm for the lights - that involved a huge amount of reading . I love the car - I’m a convert already.

You will soon catch the MINI bug! We persuaded our friends to move onto the MINI brand and between us we own seven MINIs.

Hope you find these links useful,
