Default Mini Cooper Hatch 2014- A little help with my order please - 20th January 2014, 11:30 AM

Hi, I came across this forum when I was googling all things related to the purchase of my new 2014 cooper hatch. I have placed an order to receive the new model in March 2014. Seems so long to wait!!

I want some honest advice and your opinions on the spec I have chosen. Itís still not too late for me to add and take away things on the car. Itís my first time owing a mini so I want to get it right!

I went for the Cooper 1.5 petrol in the colour White Silver and have chosen the roof and alloys in black; I went for half leather and picked the chilli pack.

The extras I have chosen are:

Run-flat tyres
Visual Audio boost
Rear park distance control
Heated seats

On top of the above spec, they included:

Group fuel
Mini TLC
Delivery
First registration fee
Metal Mate Alloy wheel protection
A-Glaze

Can anyone whoís owned a mini before suggest whatís good to include?

On a side note- I always get worried that Iím being ripped off, being that Iím a 25 year old girl and I have no manly figure to bring along with me that knows what theyíre talking about, I know that the dealer needs to make commission etc. but you never really know if youíre getting a good deal. I gave a good shot at haggling with them on price and from the first quote they produced Iíve saved £700.

In total, I'm now quoted £19,025.01 - does this seem like an okay deal?

No nasty comments just advice wanted please, much appreciated thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Iv also ordered a F56 (New MINI)

Spec seams good. Allways hard to give advice on spec as MINI's so individual.

If they have included so not charged you for

Group fuel
Mini TLC
Metal Mate Alloy wheel protection
A-Glaze

That will be where the £700 is. So not bad as some dealers are doing 0% discount on the new ones.

I personally would not want
Metal Mate Alloy wheel protection
A-Glaze

Only as they normally are over priced.

But if you have them thrown in its a different story

If you can ditch the run flats and spec non run craps do it. They're awfull and non run flats are 100% better ride.

I agree - no run flats: they make the hatch skitter and tram line and create more rattles.

All 4 one...

Hello and Welcome to tM

....another one for non-run flats if possible!

Just a comment on run-flats, whilst I realise the ride quality is nicer without runflats, and have replaced them on my wifes car for her summer tyres, runflats do provide piece of mind that you can still travel a short distance even with a puncture.

When we spec the our F56, I will probably get run-flats as its the wifes car, and I know she would sacrifice a small penalty in comfort for the benefit.

At the moment I have winter tyres on that are runflats, so in winter I am on runflats, and in the summer on non-runflats. Yes there is a difference, but its not that drastic.

Nice spec by the way ! I'm really interested in the 1.5 Cooper engine, as it looks like a great combination of performance and economy. Oh, heated seats rock !!!

RBW.

I completely agree about keeping the run-flats too.

And also good call on the heated seats. I'll never be without them either.

How is the interior with the Chili pack? Items like Chrome line interior and piano black trims (my preference) can give a right lift.

Thank you for all your replies! I get that drive quality is better without run flats but being that I drive an hour to work on the motorway and small country roads, i'd rather not be stranded in the early hours of the morning, since i'm usually driving at either 2/3/4am. So just for the safety really.

Ive added the chrome line exterior as that's free with the chilli pack but you have to add it as it won't automatically add on. The chrome interior is an extra £110 I believe.

Chilli pack includes:
  • multi-function controls for s'wheel
  • sport leather s'wheel
  • 16" alloy wheels
  • floor mats
  • passenger seat height adjustment
  • sport seats for driver and front passenger
  • storage compartment pack
  • mini excitement pack
  • mini driving modes
  • rain sensor with auto headlight activation
  • air con, dual zone auto
  • interior lights pack
  • white indicators
