The rusty patches on the blue car revealed themselves with the rear subframe and fuel tank off. It's only very light on the surface so going to clean it all back, slap some rust converter on it and underseal everything.

Ha. I live about 20 miles from my nans where I'm doing the car and all this stuff is a pain being in the garage so I've started slowly taking bits home to put in the shed so I've got more room to work.

The exhaust on that is an unresonated Playmini. I had it on the other car when it was Cooper powered and it stayed on when I had the S engine. Sounded amazing with GTT manifold on the S! It sounds like a sporty OEM exhaust on this with the stock manifold.

Might need another shed.

Default Karl's totalBOSS Park Lane, and W11R50 track car build thread - 18th December 2015, 06:54 PM

Not updated this for ages. Quite a bit has been going on, but most of it pretty boring so not worth a post. Been developing a few ideas, working on some suspension components etc but they are all a way off being ready to show.

Decided to change some LEDs in the Park Lane -

and got some R56 Cooper S front calipers for it too...

Obvious in need of a bit of a refurb, and one of the bleed nipples was shagged so have had to repair the thread in the caliper.

For the project car -

I got hold of another engine for it. This one has a knock, but came with all the ancillaries, and supercharger. By the time I sold the charger and the coil pack the engine was free lol. I have bought it so that I can build a fresh, fully balanced short block. Here's a pointless picture with the head off.

Been fiddling with the wiring loom...

...fixing the odd plug I broke taking it all out the car... oops...

Today I bolted a few bits together out of boredom...

And before anyone says anything, yes I do have a set of adjustable control arms to go on, yes I know people usually fit them to the bottom when they only use one set, but I fit them to the top and have reasons for doing so, and no it does not compromise anything in how they function.
