Default Boost stereo unit - 18th June 2016, 10:31 AM

I noticed the Cooper I bought has the "Boost" cd/radio player. On it is a button with a phone symbol on it, but it doesnt seem to do anything? Just wondering if there is some kind of bluetooth built into the radio?

Also, it has the 3.5mm aux in socket. Is there a way to add a USB to this stereo or can I get maybe a higher up model that was in another Cooper I looked at that had the USB socket down in the centre console?

Had my ipod work g through the 3.5 nack but its too much of a faff having to use the ipod to change albums/tracks etc. Just so used to having a usb drive so hopi g to find a way around it. Info on changing the head units seems to be hard to find.

I think you only get a USB port if it has Bluetooth fitted. As for changing the stereo it can be done but not a easy job.

I was under the impression that all 2nd gens had the "Y" cable connection ports. Is there not a USB next to the 3.5 aux connection? Its tucked under the centre console in front of the gear stick.

Unfortunately only some have the USB socket mate (and typically, mine doesn't!) Deffo no USB socket, just the 3.5 jack plug on mind mate.
