Default Chris's 06 Hyper Blue S - 19th January 2014, 08:12 PM

So I finally thought I'd start a thread again, and it seems worthwhile now there's been some progress too...

The Spec:
2006 06 Cooper S
OEM Heated Recaro's
Aero kit
Full Bluetooth + Voice Control
OEM LSD
Darkened Glass
Chilli Pack
Harman/Kardon
Auto Climate Control
...And quite a lot more from the factory!

This is a brief thread of most of the changes, it's had a few things appear that aren't photo'd but they're fairly insignificant, and it's had 4 services in the 18 months or so that I've had it, more than it had had in it's life!
So... onto the pictures

As I bought it

Tried it without the Aero stickers for a bit

Wasn't too keen on the plain look so a new set was bought
Bought some Bullet wheels as the Web Spokes were starting to peel and I didn't fancy the hassle of split rims

Painted the calipers and discs to tidy them up a bit

Just a view of the seats

Got rid of the RC car aerial

As it stood for a while

Picked up an iPhone cradle so that I can charge and use the phones aerial for signal

Bought a pair of the Cabrio strut braces, little difference if any, but they were cheap

Picked up an eBay bargain
Before:

After:

A JCW Gearknob and Handbrake handle found their way on too
This also found its way into the engine bay, huge difference in supercharger noise!

Picked up some blue mirror caps to start losing the chrome

Some proper stoppers appeared on it too

Clearance was increased with a 5mm Eibach spacer

It was still a tight fit!
These stickers were off eBay after I'd seen a few used cars popping up with the foglight surrounds in black

Sorted some replacement OEM rear brakes and HEL braided hoses

The to do pile

The M7 brace was a welcome addition

Then another purchase came along...

Was quite happy with how it was looking now

I'd been toying with the idea of taking the rear seats out for ages, and finally got round the buying the GP seat delete, so that was trimmed down and fitted

Then this weekend I fitted a Superflex lower engine bush insert which has completely transformed the drive of the car, would highly recommend to anyone for 20!

And one last pic, in the Summer I went up the hills with my brother and got some nice pictures whilst they were both clean and the sun was out!

More to come, probably going to slow down on the spending for a bit as that ^ has my name on in a couple of years time!

Thanks for looking!

When I was fitting it, you could rock the engine back and forth with some brute force, now there is little to no movement.
There's a bit of vibration that comes through to the car, but from turning the key and driving off, the engine actually feels part of the car now.
All gear shifts are practically seamless and there's no juddering.
And putting your foot down actually has an instant reaction, it's definitely no placebo mod

hmm, i get the feeling the engine is "disconnected" when i slam my foot down, i reckion this is the cause, did you do both ends of the mount?

Just did the lower insert bit, after a bit of research, the smaller one on the other end of the mount isn't worth the hassle for the little gain it gives
