Default Pops and bangs from standard Cooper S in sport mode - 1st March 2015, 11:08 AM

I had a brand new fjcw and it popped since the day I got it. 100 miles inn and it started popping. After about 180 miles I had a decat and that was brutal, esp the more I drove it

Those of you who have had either a decat or sports cat fitted, did it produce a CEL?? I've heard that the increased gas flow can do that. Or is that all rubbish??

Yep, cel is a definite with decat, some get away with it on sports/stealth cats with a lambda spacer pipe - didn't work for me.

Not an issue, either ignore it, stick a bit of tape over the light or get it mapped out - I've done all 3 lol

Mine was a stealth cat - no CEL and passed emissions.

Details can be found in this thread (below) including pictures and a dyno run (see both on page 3)

No - my car went quite a while ago now. 1320 can make one for you if you fancy it though - I think they do it on an exchange basis so after booking you roll up and they swap the DPs over
