Default coding, re-programming - 4th November 2017, 05:24 PM

Hi, i have a question concerning coding on the F56 Mini.....tuesday i will finally collect my Cooper and i asked my dealer for some software-mods, some of them are welcome (titlting mirror in reverse, blips when opening/closing the car, closing the roof/windows trough the remote control, starting the car without pressing the clutch...fbut not not that important in my eyes as getting rid of the start/stop function .... something i would realy like (daily traffic-jams...).
My dealer was not affirmative that it could be done and he would ask the technicians about it......
I thought that re-programming could (should) be done at the dealer......if yes, would it be a "standard" service or will they charge me again?

Definitely not a standard service.
You can do all that yourself with simple Bluetooth dongle and an app

Thx, afters some googeling i found a company who's doing this ....for 10 eur/option which seems ok .....until there's a Mini software update; 60 eur again......
Best is indeed to do these changes yourself, i'm a bit of a disaster when it comes to computer related stuff but give it a try.

Today i collected my Cooper and; i'm a happy man, that car is fantastic (as you guys know already ) but i'm also extremely pleased with the service of my dealer; The coding (this topic....) ; they will do this FOR FREE, i have to bring it in later as they were to busy right now. The only thing they don't do is "deleting" the start/stop function as this would influence the emission-scores.....
Beside that they made me a new front license plate FOR FREE as mine was a bit aged.
The fuel tank was filled for about 25% (rare too i believe).
A very happy Mini driver

In America you can go to any BMW (MINI) dealer to have the stop/start turned off free of charge as in America the car is considered to be dangerous and BMW have bee taken to court and lost.
I have spoken to BMW head office and they have confirmed this but they say this does not apply to our country?
