UJ Are these heated seats? - 19th November 2017, 07:40 PM

Hi everyone. I have just bought a set of R50 Park Lane leather seats and see a black connector underneath and was wondering if that means these are heated seats? If they are, can someone advise what parts I need to pick up to get these working in my non-heated seat R50 Mini One?

The 3 pin black connector shows it to be heated seats. The guide below provides fitting instructions including converting the actual seats to heated. But with your seats having the heated elements installed it will be best to source the parts from a MINI, drop a line to our site sponsor Cotswold MINI.

I have messaged them as you suggested. It's nice to know that my seats are the heated variety as they weren't sold as having that. I probably would have paid more for them had I known 😄

A good find, Park Lane leather seats are very classy, they donít crease as easily as others, punch leather is a nightmare.

OK... so Cotwold came back to me stating that heated seats can't be retrofitted to my 2005 Mini One.

I'm still interested if anyone knows if this indeed can be achieved either via the official retrofit kit or via picking up parts from a donor vehicle? I have seen the official retrofit kit around the £140 mark, but I'm now unsure if this will work.

Does anyone have a 2005 Mini One built with heated seats or has anyone retrofitted the required parts in a 2005 Mini One and are now able to drive around with a toastie posterior?

If you're feeling brave I have a wiring diagram...

What is included in the retrofit kit? Do you have a link to it or anything?

I'll take a look at the wiring diagram if you have it. The (apparent) kit is currently on ebay from mini_direct (ebay# 161827335253) for £153. It was a tad cheaper (15%) last week so I'm sure some negotiation is there to be had.

Apparently you can purchase just the wiring loom - part# 61120144084. This only costs around £40 and I can get the heated seat/wing mirror control from ebay for £15.

I'm probably better off trying to get the wiring from a 2005 donor vehicle and pretend I know what I'm doing with it.

I'm not overly bothered if I can't get the heated seats working in my current Mini as my main plan is to transfer all the goodies I'm picking up now into my next Mini which will have lower mileage; xenon headlights; climate control; heated seats; multifunction steering wheel; and if I'm very lucky, a panoramic sunroof. Obviously I will have to find all that in a black-eye purple Mini <",))>-<
