Default Axed F series models - 2nd February 2018, 01:48 PM

I made a visit to my local dealer to sort out some warranty work on the Countryman. Looking at the range in the showroom some of the models have been axed:

3 door
One D and Cooper SD axed.

5 door
Cooper SD axed and oddly the Cooper S doesn’t receive a Sports auto box compared to the other models in the range.

Convertible
Cooper D axed, the convertible range is only available in petrol.

Clubman
Cooper S and SD axed.

Countryman
Only model which remains unchanged.

As mentioned before the solid light white colour is now free and Moonwalk Grey, free before, is now a cost option. Price increases implemented across the range too.

Current
2013/13 Mini Roadster 2.0 Cooper SD.
2016/16 Mini Countryman 2.0 Cooper SD All4.

It's good they dropped a few though too many choices

Glad theykept the Cooper D I love mine! mind you they wouldn't drop the cars that got 5 star reviews but Odd about no Cooper S in the Clubman are you sure that's right ?

Iím surprised too with no Cooper S for the Clubman but confirmed by the sales chap when I found it on the official site. Site shows Cooper petrol/diesel in manual or auto with JCW ALL4 either in manual or sports auto.

price has gone up twice in last week ours would now cost £41000,plus what dealer adds on,plus what other 2 would have lost, would have cost between 4 and 5 grande more to change now

Ditto with the diesel Countryman Cooper SD ALL4. On the packs, all increased and although they have added in more into the packs it still works out more expensive than before.

Thatís correct according to the salesman and the official website. I even tried downloading the digital brochure but thatís out of date. An odd decision, I felt the Cooper S/SD engines were more suited due to the size of the body.

The guy on the Live Chat on the official MINI site is helpful

BMW / MINI is a premium brand and that shows today more than ever

I'm surprised at such high price increases though mid life though but there we go!

If it helps you feel better at all MINI keeps coming out near top of keeping its value when it comes to selling it
