Default Eolys Reset - 17th May 2017, 12:09 PM

Hoping someone has come across this before
I have just changed the eolys bag on my 58plate Clubman as it was leaking, can I reset the countdown (80K miles I think) or do I have to get an auto electrician.
I've googled this but seem to come up with different answers.
Thanks

you can reset on bc, but you will probably need diagnostics to bleed the system

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't aware it would need bleeding.

Do you just have to get the pump to run for a short period or is there more involved.

Thanks

There was air between the bag and the pump when I took it out.

That could explain why the dpf was blocked and the turbo whistling. Had the dpf cleaned and the turbo replaced.

Sounds like it's time to find someone who can run the pump now.

For anyone else asking this question in the future.

I have just been to my local Mini Dealership, and asked about needing to bleed or prime the pump, they are not aware of needing to do so, you need to tell the car it has been refilled.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

Stu

LOL thats the answer I would expect. Still might need doing though. What they say is correct in an ideal world when you replace a bag that is almost empty, not one that has been burst and developed an airlock on the piping to the engine

Will see if I can get a man with a scanner look at it and see if there's a function to start and stop the pump.

Do you know where it pumps the fluid to?

It's an additive that's meant to stop the DPF blocking.

Some is automatically added to the diesel each time you put fuel in.
