UJ Can you fit R50 seats into R52? - 23rd December 2017, 02:41 AM

I currently have a R50 Mini One and recently installed a set of heated Park Lane leather seats from a 2005 donor vehicle.

I'm planning for my next Mini to either be a Cooper with panoramic sunroof, or a convertible. Both will probably be a 2005 as I want Black-Eye Purple.

My question is will my R50 seats transfer to a R52?

Is this something that can sorted through any modification, or is it a plain and simple no it's not possible?

The back seats of a R52 have completely separate headrests which are attached to the roll bar not on sliders from the seatback.

The seatbacks also have locking mechanisms for the ignition key so that they can be locked into place.

Thanks guys. I'd love a convertible as I miss my old MR2 Roadster, but I'll just hunt down a purple One or Cooper that has the panoramic sunroof instead. Thankfully I don't need to do that until December 2018, so I have time.
