Default Countryman Hire in NE England - 1st August 2016, 03:18 PM

I'm a great believer in hiring any car I'm thinking of buying. Ok you can get a test drive or even persuade the dealer to lend you one for a day if you are lucky, but I have back probs and I need to hire a MINI Countryman for a few days (preferably an automatic) in the North East.
Hiring a car has saved me from buying two cars in the past which I'd have had to sell after about a month if I'd bought them!
So anyone know a hire firm which could help?
Geoff.

Thanks for the advice....I will call in and try Enterprise and Hertz face to face as I had no luck on line!
I visited Sixt and they did have them but not any longer... Bad timing on my part!

Default Countryman Hire in NE England - 1st August 2016, 07:00 PM

Have you asked any dealers if they do hire. I remember seeing a hire poster in my local Audi dealership (mainly larger models) a few years ago.
Might be worth a shout

I'll give it a try, thanks. I only tried one dealer and got a blank look! I'll try the other two in the area.

Unfortunately they don't have the Countryman on their fleets any more. So it looks like plan B.... Persuade a dealer to let me have a 24 hour test drive!
Thanks for the suggestions anyway!

I managed to blag a JCW Paceman for a weekend a few years ago (glad I did as it was rubbish) so I'm sure if you spoke to your dealer and explained they'd oblige.

2016 F56 JCW, CR/B, CHILI/TECH/MEDIA, PAN ROOF+RAILS, SUN PROTECTION GLASS, HEATED SCREEN+SEATS, ADAPTIVE DAMPERS, JCW PRO FRONT SPLITTER+MIRROR CAPS+MATS............

Speak to dealer and explain requirements. Say you will fuel and insure yourself... Or speak to motability specialist.. They are always dealing with this sort of thing..

Sorted... Thanks for the suggestions.... One of the dealers is trying to get an automatic from one of their other branches to let me borrow for either 24 or 48 hours. They also said they'd invite me to the launch of the new one, built on the X1 chassis, and would organise another extended test drive in one of those when released.
