Seen a few of these on the road now and I must admit I like them. Wouldn't mind having a snoop round one, although Im unlikely to actually buy but would consider one over a countryman if I was looking

the bigger rear end does seem to balance out the longer snout but I'm only interested in the hatch ...

Doesn't have a top end unlike the previous car? Huh - the r56 had no top end as standard at all... Jcw did but not the s... Some of his comments seem a little confused between r56 and r53 when talking about the previous car.

BRB is a keeper. And we already have a GP2 elsewhere in the family, which I have my eye on, in the event it needs a new home, by any chance.

You'd think it was a different car to the one Evo tested!

Mini Cooper S 5-Door: Review | PistonHeads

I get the impression he had some preconceptions by the way he started the review.

I sat next to one of these in traffic yesterday, and I ahve to agree that "somewhat unfortunately it looks more like a slammed Countryman than an elongated hatch".

At the end of the day, if I ever walk into a dealers for a third gen, I'll be coming out with the hatchback JCW - the other models don't appeal as they all add too much weight/ugliness.
