Mr Clarksons Opinion of the R57

Times on line

'Driving a car like this makes you all gooey because you know you won’t see another; but unlike a classic, it won’t arrive everywhere on the back of a lorry and you won’t feel compelled to join an owners’ club.'

Now I only had a skim read really, but the article is 3 pages long, and it takes him 1 1/2 pages to actually start talking about the MINI!!

I think he's great on Top Gear, but whenever I read anything of his it's full of waffle!!

Anyway, not a bad review, he seems to kinda like it!

Read it all and no one can say what he says isn't true but none the less i'd still buy the MINI over the FIAT.

I agree!! I do like the Fiat 500, but when you get up to it it looks really high and unstabe imo!!

Clarkson's reviews are always two-thirds commentary (this time, on classic car owners), and one third vaguely-on-point. Which is exactly how I like it.

And how long does it take to read one article in the paper? It's not like GQ, or the London 'Metro' and other free papers for those who can barely concentrate for more than 23 seconds. For a Clarkson, this review is about as good as it gets! Warm and glowing, I'd say.

And anyway, I can read 'real reviews' from the likes of Honest John, CAR, EVO, and even Top Gear magazine.

Haha what sort of person buys a FIAT if you want a drivers car?

He's right. Exactly what I think. My Cooper S doesn't feel like it's got 175bhp. More like 140.

Had a R57 cooper for 2 days this week, been bitten by the open top fun. Loved it, would adda a strut brace though as you can tell they are a little looser than a hard top. (Compared to my Clubman)
If only i had some cash i would have a R57 like a shot for those sunny days.
