MINI Icon Red Music up loud, bass cuts down, fades back up? - 24th August 2013, 05:31 PM

Hi there,

My names Tim. I have literally just got myself a 2010 (British 60 plate) Mini Cooper Clubman D.

Loving the ride and all the extras that came with the car, my only issue is, as I do like my music, that if I turn up the stereo loud it seems that the bass cuts down and then fades gradually back up? Its as if it cant handle the bass and backing down... and then cutting out to ensure its not going to damage the speaker? Is it a safety thing? Or is it a fault?

Is there any way of getting round this perhaps?

Help or information would be great!

Many Thanks

Tim Durkin

I've never heard of this before, but speak or drop a message to mike at newministuff. He's your man.

This is the 2nd person I've heard this from - never experience it on mine, but I've done the channel swap mod!

I believe its the face lift model. If its the bass filter what does that do? Is there a way to switch it off or do I have to live with this? Its not a huge issue i just thought i had a fault with it.

Thanks for your help guys!

Tim
