Default visual boost retrofit - 12th January 2015, 08:45 PM

Hi,

Is it possible to retrofit the visual boost to a 2011mini? Not bothered about the sat nav so much although that would be a bonus.

Just looking for what would finish off the package for me. The car ticked all the boxes except that one but was a good deal at a main dealer so went for it

Just fit an iPad mini in the place of the speedo, probably cheaper and easier

Has anyone tried to know that?

The cheapest car I could find in the cherished mini site with the visual boost was about 3k more, hence why I didn't think it was worth that much more to buy it. I was only looking at the JCW's

The screen and the controller is cheap enough to buy plus the visual boot unit, wiring as well, bit of coding, a cic emulator I believe, am I missing anything?

i would have a word with Mikey the guy does most of the Audio for people on here.. if not try MADE south coast or something. they can advise you in more detail im sure.

i chose my 2nd mini on spec alone.. and knew from my first mini its better to buy the car with the spec you want.

Have found a place that can do it, not far from me either. Waiting on the quote, assuming it is going to be all new equipment but if they can then no reason why if parts are supplied they can't do it or it can be done.
Reading up it doesn't sound that hard, just I haven't done any coding before on cars

4100 from one place, assuming that's all new parts, needless to say that I won't be getting them to do it. They do advertise it as one of the things they do so someone at some point must have had it done.
Looking for a list of parts needed as asked for a price breakdown on parts for that quote, sure I can do it ahell of a lot cheaper than that myself apart from the coding bit if I get second hand bits as they pop up.
