Thumbs up Advice needed RE Steering Wheel - 30th March 2015, 05:41 PM

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone knew if I could replace my non-multifunction steering wheel on my 2010 R56 with a multifunction one?
I'm not bothered about the buttons working or anything, I just think it makes the car look a lot smarter.

Any help would be appreciated! Spent hours trolling through post after post but haven't had any luck

Cheers

I would guess you probably could but couldn't confirm 100%
As it happens I'm about to put a wheel with multi-function switches up for sale - drop me a pm if you're interested

You need a new slip ring which has the ability for the multi function, you need the buttons obv, and need it coded.

Easier to just sell the car.

Why on earth would you want a multifunction wheel without the buttons working? That has got to be one of the strangest things I've ever heard. What you are essentially doing is wasting time and money. And then when you come to sell the car you'll have to explain wtje buttons don't work...

Why don't you get someone to print off some stickers of buttons that you can stick all over the steering wheel? You could peel them off before selling then.

Or do you perhaps mean that you currently have a 2 spoke wheel and want a three spoke and it's just that all the ones you've seen are multi function?

ok i mis read what the guy said.

If you want to buttons to work then there is a lot of work.

if you just want them there to look at haha then yes, just swap the wheels over or add buttons and dont connect them.. POINTLESS but if thats what you want

Sell him it but for god sake make him make the buttons work or I'll have a nervous breakdown.
