Default DAB radio from Mini - 9th November 2013, 10:02 AM

Has anyone got the DAB radio installed from a Mini dealer?
I saw this advertised when I was last there and put it down on my Xmas suggestion list to the Mrs

Not got it myself, but am interested in finding out more as it does look integrated apart from the wireless controller which looks good.

I advise you don't get this system!
I have had personal experience with it and it is way way over priced!
user interface is beyond poor and it can be quite temperamental as to it receiving digital stations

Is there anything else out there that integrates with the standard unit? Mike the mini is too far away too before anyone suggests him

I got DAB as I have Mini Connected, it cuts in and out and I can't be arsed with it so I always use 'normal' radio - no probs with it.

Like you I have DAB and like you mine cuts in and out unless I'm on Absolute Radio where the signal's pretty strong......think I've only had a signal loss once and that, to be fair, was in a very bad signal area.

Personally I wouldn't pay any extra money for DAB as 99.99% of the time I'm on FM or "normal" radio!

Another here with Dab as part of Connected (or Media, whatever) - rarely use it cos it's forever making loud squeak and fart noises when the signal gets iffy - at least with FM you can usually still hear the program when the signal degrades.
