Default original stereo help please, adding USB - 5th December 2013, 09:34 PM

Hi

I,ve just recently bought a clubman, which i expected to have USB but my bad i didn't read the spec in that add, like the car so i bought it anyway.

Now to the point, the car is an 08 clubman cooper D, with radio boost and no usb or blue tooth. Which original mini stereo would allow me to fit USB along with the aux port i already have? and do any come with bluetooth built in

Also , i have DAB anyone know if its part of the head unit or a seperate module?

Thanks for looking anyway

Ady

DAB wasn't installed into the mini until the LCI models, circa 2011..

DAB wasnt standard till lci, it was available as an option on my model year. It uses the older MOST module rather than being part of the head unit i believe. I have purchased an lci unit with bluetooth DAB and hopefully working USB

Check out this post...

Seems that there is a retrofit kit available for USB, so might be worth speaking to Chris at Lloyd Blackpool...

Hi, i read that write up, very impressive very good indeed, but i struggle just to pull only the retrofit bluetooth installation from the serious install going on there.

I'm hoping to get the usb and bluetooth from the lci unit i bought yesterday and a lead from good old china lol.

Labour and stripdown wouldn't be an issue as i do this kind of thing for a living, my problem is usually time to work things out.
