Default Bad reception - 19th December 2013, 09:24 PM

Radio reception in the car is getting worse. Almost to the point im not turning it on.

My ariel is still on the roof and i have the HK system.

Have you got a shorter or the sports aerial at all? I find mine isn't so good as the full size one tbh.

Still got the oem ariel. I like the longer RC type look with it. Cant get away with the stubby look.

The amp? Anyway to diagnose if it is this without forking out for a new one?

Hmmmm perhaps mines broken then. I hardly actually use the radio itself anyway - normally got my phone plugged in.

To be honest DAB is very hit and miss with any aerial; personally I prefer the standard Mini aerial as my pig fits better on it!!

Digital tv is a great success but digital radio is a big flop

What a blessing that the government have realised that and decided to invest more money before making the switch.

I've seen a couple where the base become porus and water gets in and causes all sorts of issues. Only way of seeing this is removing the base and inspecting you can see rusty bolts from underneath. Diagnosis is free but the base is approx 160 good luck
