Default IPod Classic with new Y cable - keeps resetting - 1st March 2014, 07:44 AM

Has anyone else had problems with the new Y cable running an iPod Classic? Mine is connected to a full Media pack on my 2013 R56, but I plug it into my iPod and it causes the iPod to reboot. As soon as it is ready to play, it reboots again!

I've tried manually rebooting my iPod several times to no avail.

I play a USB stick in my USB socket without any issues, and my iPhone 4S works fine also. My iPod works fine at home in a dock.

Any ideas or help appreciated.

Deffo something to do with iPod Classic, so may have to wipe and reload it to see if it cures it. If not, maybe a visit to CEX is the next step for a trade-in!

I had this issue a couple of years ago in a clubbie, Ipod Touch was fine but classic was not, it was down to ios software, so classic is now in a drawer rotting.

WARNING: Modifications seriously damage your wealth.

As does changing your MINI every 6 months.

I think you may be right Dave, a Classic is just too old. I mean, even Apple are planning to stop making them. I just need a 128GB iPod Touch.
