Default AfterMarket DAB Questions - 1st April 2014, 03:23 PM

Hello,

I am thinking about a DAB add on for my R56. I know Mikey does one but Liverpool is a fair hike. I looked locally at the Alpine version he is offereing and a couple of installers have popped up only thing putting me off is it needs to be connected to the AUX Socket.

So I looked at the offering from MINI this uses the Existing Display and I think looks a lot neater.

Anyone out there any experience of these offerings or advice

Mike

I've got the offering from Mini as you call it and I have to say it's pretty good. You control everything apart from the selecting stations from normal controls, the remote control to change stations is tiny and easily used while driving. Reception has been good so far. If you want any pics/details of anything then drop me a pm.

How hard was it to fit, is the display separate.

Took me a couple of hours. Mainly because of removing the panels, but not a difficult job.
The info is displayed on the radio and controlled from the separate remote controller which can be put anywhere in car

I fitted all mine in the rear. If you fit to the front screen all is well until you have to replace the screen. This means a new Ariel
