Default 12v Multi Socket - 8th June 2014, 09:37 PM

Anyone fitted a 12v multisocket in an LCI R56? I was browsing the Halfrauds site and couldn't decide which would be best or how to best site it without obstructing the USB/phono jack

Just need it to have the dashcam and sat nav plugged in at the same time.

What does anyone else do? Pics would be useful

Thanks

I have the navigation pack on my mini so only need the dash cam plugged in. Suppose it's difficult if you need two plugged in. Need a good solution that also looks good I suppose.

Ian, Im not sure from your post whether you are after a new one or already have one and need another. If the latter, I had the same problem and use one of these rather than fit a second socket

Hang on a minute lads, I've got a great idea! Errrr.......

Default 12v Multi Socket - 9th June 2014, 07:07 PM

Thanks Graeme but I need to plug in two 12v cigarette lighter type plugs, not USB's. In normal day to day use, the dash cam plug will just sit in the normal socket .... it's when we go off somewhere together, and I am using the Tom Tom as well, that I will need the two sockets.

Unless anyone can suggest a better alternative I think I might go for one of these, which will sit in a cup holder:

I might have to drink less coffee, but it should leave easy access to the USB and phono plug under the dash for the all important music

Thats what I have now my camera doesnt have USB and needs a ciggie lighter socket. Mine has a flat surface rather than being round, it lies flat in the console or sticky pads onto the passenger side of the console

Thats the exact one I have in my R50, it sits nicely in one cup holder and was the tidiest option I could find that did not foul the heater controls. Like you I need to run a Satnav and Dash Cam. The lights on it are a bit gimicky but it has worked ok for the last few months. And you can get a coffee cup in the other holder.......
