Default Seat tilt / slide - 6th August 2014, 06:22 PM

Just got some new GP seats for my JCW, and need a bit of help with the installation.

The seats didn't come with rails, and I sold my old ones with the old seats, so I bought some new ones from a Mintech. All received today and having cleaned them up and sprayed them to tidy them up, they are now attached to the GP seats. So far so good...

Now, with the GP seats, there is a cable hanging out of the seat - I assume it is the same with all Mini seats. When I pull the lever on the back of the seat, the seat tilts forwards, and this cable retracts, so I'm pretty sure this needs to be attached to the rail to make the seat slide forwards to enable people to get into the back of the car. I have attached the black plastic bit in what looks like the only place it can go, so I recon that bit is right, but it's just the silver wire that needs to pull on something that I'm stuck with. I can't see how or where the end of the cable attaches to the rail. I've posted some pictures below to show what I mean.

Help!!!!

I live in Pulborough, West Sussex. Anyone local fancy popping round so I can look at how yours work? I make an awesome brew

Can anyone email me or post a picture here showing how it connects?

Those don't look like any 2nd generation seat slides that I have seen - are they for a 1st generation car?

Not sure really. They fit the seats and the car fine, it's just this release cable that doesn't look right.
