Default How do you know if you have auto wipers? - 16th September 2013, 01:47 PM

Is it as simple as driving out in the rain? The only reason I ask, is I used them for the first time yesterday and when I was stationary, they only came on every few seconds. However as soon as I started driving, they sped up.

I have a Mini Cooper D London 2012 with the Chili Pack.

Thanks.

That's what they are supposed to do. On your windscreen in the centre you'll see the sensor if you have it.

Thanks. Don't think there is a sensor so I obviously haven't got them!

If you have got auto wipers you still need to turn them on by pressing the end of the wiper stalk
The sensor is on the screen in front of rear view mirror

That also sounds like the normal wipers on low speed - when you stop they go down one speed, so low speed becomes intermittent.

If you have auto wipers, they are operated by pressing the button on the end of the wiper stalk, which should have an 'A' symbol too:

And the sensor can only be seen through the windscreen from outside - from inside it's behind the rear view mirror.
