my current 2008 JCW pre-LCI tail lights to the new blackline LCI tail lights!! wiring needs to be modified otherwise i will have light bulb error indication on the dash! I saw similar posts here but unfortunately no step by step guidelines!! Mike from mininewstuff quoted me 178 pounds excluding VAT for the installation only...ridiculus expensive!

The interior of the car needs to be stripped to run all the wires.

Takes about 5 hours for the install. I know because I was the first to have it done.

No wires work needed, I have done this modification in my 2007 Mini Cooper s. The lights is bolt on, you need a reverce rear light (in the place one of the rear fog ligths) and programming (cancel the operation of fault in rear lamp, because of the led's in the lci lights).

Digging out this old topic, finally Tomy was correct! 2 + people confirmed the same! There are 2 ways to do it! If you want full retrofit without cancellation of any warnings of the rear lights you need also the FRM-3 module + coding to adapt the new setup! But the easy way to do it is to charge the order of the fuse cables (4 in total) and move the 4th one not seen in the picture to the new lower reverse light! Afterwards, with BMwhat you have to cancel the warnings for rear bulbs - easy task, takes 2 minutes! Here is the photo of the wiring pattern after the modification!

UPDATE: Looking to do this with my pre LCI. Spoke to Mike (Sept 2017) and he is now quoting 362 + VAT. A day to complete work and with a 12 month guarantee. Currently 3 weeks notice needed.

Bit steep for me atm, so will try and do this myself with wire change mod and Carly. Will update if successful
