This

You probably never notice it Ben as the bonnet's shut

Also the tensioner is NOT a quick fix - to do it properly the guides need changing as well. If you simply change the tensioner for the longer "BMW temporary fix" it will come back.

It wasn't just after I started it though. I had driven it down the road to take some pics and was left running for at least 5/10 mins. Haven't really noticed it since, but I will certainly be keeping an eye on it.

Cheers guys

I've got a rattle type noise on mine at the mo, but I'm it's got a suspected HPFP problem....or could be coked up!
What a pile of steaming sxxt the R56 is.

Thought the engine would have been cold

I'm not sure it sounds too bad tbh - you checked the oil but is it full? Mine makes a similar noise when it gets to needing half a litre

Yeah my bad Ian, I did make it sound like it was cold. I think it was pretty full, I will check it again to make sure in a bit though.

Just watching the Grand Prix at the moment - an eventful race today!

Does it go when the engines up to temp?

Our's has had all the updated tensioners ect and does this for a bit when cold but then goes once up to temp. The death rattle (which i've had before) increases with engine RPM and is more of a wiring noise.
