Default Engine noise - knackered again? - 29th June 2013, 12:37 PM

Hey guys.

Do you think that this sounds alright?

Just washed the car and then went to move it and noticed it sounded a little off again. Similar to what it sounded like before just after I bought it and had loads of bits replaced. Not sure what was done last time though as it was under warranty.

Does it sound right to you? Or am I just being paranoid?

Yeah I thought it might be tensioner as well. It doesn't seem to sound strange any more so hopefully it has sorted itself out. Must have been because I went to look at other cars earlier

Oh dear mate. I've read that sometimes the tensioner gets a bit stuck when cold and eases its way out as the temperature increases. If you've ha the lot already done might be worth getting an indie to swap it for you. Tensioner is only about 30 quid i think and doesn't take long to swap out.

This might sound daft but you have checked your oil level haven't you?
Mine sounds like this when oil level has fallen!

Doesn't sound daft at all mate. But yeah, I check my oil level regularly and had just checked it beforehand as well.

I'm about to pop out in it, so we shall see what it sounds like this morning.

Tensioner, oil pressure. Just turned on so lack of? Take it for a drive and the noise should go as pressure is increased?
