Default New from the USA - 27th September 2017, 11:38 PM

I’ve been a member for a while, so I figure its time to say HI to all. From what I see I’m the second from this side of the pond that became a member. I live 100 miles from Nashville Tennessee, way way way out in the country. In fact, we live in an area that we sit on the back deck every morning and watch the deer go grazing by. And in certain times of the year the Canadian Geese, wild foxes, wild turkey and more. (after living in the Los Angeles California area for 40 years, the wife and I couldn’t take the crowds anymore and wanted in the country and away from all the so call Big City Life.)

Since we are old coots, we have a full size America Dodge pickup with a Cummins Diesel, a Japanese Nissan Frontier and figured something from Europe would finish the driving needs. I’ve always wanted a Mini for the last 2 decades, but never had the chance to have one. Wife, 4 kids and such, the Mini was to small. Now, retired, the kids and grandkids 2,000 miles away … the wife said one would fit like a glove now.

Just got the 2017 Countryman All4 with the little 1.5 and some options, but not enough comfort to make it a home, just a comfortable car. Haven’t had a chance to get many miles on it yet, but planning on several trip in the next 12 months.

So if I interact now and then, and being totally new to the Mini, excuse my ignorance and bear with me please.

Oh ... and my nickname is from my daughter. She has only known me owning an old Harley her whole life, and jokingly tells her friend her old man is an old biker.

When I bought it, we had it 4 days and the wife injured her knee and everything came to a stop. She'll get a knee replacement soon, so I'll get it after. Then maybe I'll get to drive it again. Hate having a new car and not using it. It's to low with the knee right now.

Near Nashville - how lucky is that.

Been a fan of Country music all my life, Waylon Jennings, Red Steagall, Merle Haggard etc. , probably why I bought a "Countrywoman".

Welcome to tM. I wish your wife a speedy recovery. You might need to warm up the Countryman in the meantime, just don't hit any of that wildlife (we have the same issue where I live, lots of 'single vehicle accidents' by people trying to avoid elk, deer, etc.), especially this time of year.
