the GP2 is a slow sell, but that is good I reckon for values at present

111 left unsold of the 300 allocation if I am working it out correctly

anyone know if other markets are already sold out, I think South Africa had a tiny allocation and all are sold out

Did they (MINI) not ship more Gp2's to the UK as they were not selling else where?

In the real world, is it really possible to compare a 2006 model with a 2013 model?

R53 was a final blast of the Gen 1 mini.....further chassis development, weight reduced, unique features.

R56 is a marketing ploy by BMW to try to sell more cars...

Both the GP1 and the GP2 has its own faults, quirks, good points, fan bois,...I don't think the R56 GP will stay as "admired" as the R53 GP....although, if you're not a mini fan, why would you admire any in the first place?

Never driven a R56 GP so unable to make a genuine comparison between the two....however, being the owner of a R53 GP I know how great they are to drive!

Before anyone waves the "biased" flag, my GP has been modified to within an inch of its life....the only thing standard is the bodyshell so I'm not saying that in my eyes the R53 was perfect.

In the track test for the R56 GP it was 17 secs quicker on the 'Ring than the R53 GP.....which went round on standard suspension and runflats.....would be interesting to see if there would be much difference from a R53 GP with coilovers, lowered ride height and semi slick tyres....I think not!

I think the GP2 might have it with the turbo/more torquey engine, and better six pot caliper brakes, but it would be interesting to see what a GP could do on Bilsteins, Yokohama AD08s and running some better Nitrac discs and Carbotech pads with the 1st gen JCW calipers...
